Story: How Double Decker Sister Cooks got started

Connie & I started Double Decker Sister Cooks because we have always had a love for cooking. When I moved down to San Diego in February 2008 it was right around the time Connie got married June 2008. She had a bunch of great new cookbooks (from the wedding) and recipes from our mom, grandma(s) and her married friends. We always talked and kept in touch but we wanted to do something fun together even though we were far apart. We came up with the idea to cook meals together over Skype. Each week we would try to set aside a few hours and both Connie & I would chose a recipe and make a meal together. After awhile we had so many recipes (most from our mom & childhood). Connie made each of us the folder below to keep them in. We titled it Sister Cooks.

Now 4 years later we decided to share all of our ideas together in this blog DOUBLE DECKER SISTER COOKS. We hope you enjoy our adventures in the kitchen.

Throughout our childhood Connie & I have always loved helping our parents in the kitchen whether it was helping mom bake a dessert or casserole or helping dad cook his "famous to people he knows" meats (steak, fish, ribs etc). They have taught us the basic foundations of finding our way in the kitchen. We share many interests together other than cooking and baking, such as DIY, throwing great parties, traveling, having BBQ's and dinners with family and friends so plan on getting more than just recipes when you follow our blog!
